Option3 What types of books are popular with teens today.

Nowadays, teenagers read a wide variety of books.

One of the most popular types of books for teens is science fiction, because teenagers are fond of reading about an imagined future, new achievements [əˈʧiːvmənts] ^{достижения}in science and technology and space travels to other planets. These books stir their imagination and expand the boundaries of the familiar world.

Besides, teenagers are interested in reading fantasy novels with a plot based on events and problems that are closely related to them. They are the problems of friendship, love and making the right choice. On the top-list of fantasy novels we find the series of Harry Potter, written by J.K. Rowling. The novels describe the lives of a young wizard Harry Potter and his friends.

The whole story is about Harry’s struggle against Lord Voldemort-a dark wizard who intends to become immortal and spread his dark power over the world.

One more popular genre is adventure stories. While reading them, teens are able to identify themselves with brave and faithful characters, experience real-life situations with the characters.

Such kinds of books develop critical thinking and imagination. For example, the popular books with teenagers are ( give 2 examples- name of the book, the author )

All in all, I can say that the books are more accessible now than ever, you can find any book in the Internet and download it. Therefore, any teenager can get a book that suits his taste and his intellectual level.
